Friday 10th September - Ko Phi Phi

A very leisurely holiday day today - we got up late, had breakfast, went for a slow, treacley walk, had some lunch and spent the afternoon on the beach. As it's Friday, the local mosque was calling people to prayer at lunchtime, and they came in droves, all wearing short, cylindrical white hats or scarves wrapped round their heads, and sarongs. The rest of the afternoon was quiet, the sea was warm, the sand white and soft (and it gets EVERYWHERE) and the waves made gentle whooshing noises every now and then. It was significantly cooler on the beach than in the town, but that might just have been the gentle breeze. It's still very hazy, so the large mountain-like rocks looming out of the water were a pale shade of blue-grey and the water was a slightly misty green. Haven't taken any photos yet, we're waiting to see if tomorrow's any clearer.
